While we know that a BBQ grill full of cooking burgers is a magnet for any self-respecting dog on the planet, My older dog Burrito actually is picky with his wet food unless it’s his favorite which is actually called Burger Pies and Sweetie Fries by Merrick. I just found it funny that I didn’t make the connection until now that he might be following our adventures in this club *while that sounds like an advertisement for a sponsor, unfortunately its not and we dont’ get any special love from the company, but if it makes Burrito happy, I have to put it out there.

On another honorable mention of burgers and the dogs that love them, MediumRare’s pooch, Biggie, attended the fieldtrip to the 15-pound burger in Pennsylvania and helped the crew put a nice dent in that monster, even though we were unable to finish it off.

This video sums up how great this place is. The burger is a classic diner burger with the atmosphere adding to the flavor.

This year Cheapo Delux visited the long standing and well renowned Wollensky Grill for our annual Christmas Burger meeting. It was the perfect mix of warm holiday cheer and delicious food! Upon arrival, the Cheapos headed to the bar and found the regulars very accommodating, a short wait and delicious drinks. Who doesn’t love a Manhattan on a rainy Wednesday night? Our server was merry and definitely into our burger camaraderie and gift exchange. Our monogrammed crowns were also a hit. Now for the important part, the burger, I got my standard Swiss Burger Medium Rare and of course loaded it with french fries (best of both worlds). It was perfectly cooked, slightly red and juicy in the middle and the bun was fresh and fluffy. Overall, i rate it a 9.5, making it number 2 on my top 5 list, only being beat by the wondrous Black Label Burger at Minetta. The sides were also delectable, but the honorable mention certainly goes to the Mac and Cheese. Massive shells, cooked to a golden brown perfection on top with a warm cheesy center. I think we had desert and i think it was a chocolate lava cake, but i was on to my second Manhattan by then and basking in burger bliss. Thanks Wollensky Grill, we had an awesome time!
